Owen Reed is currently a Summer Fellow in Parallel Computing at Los Alamos National Laboratory, focusing on integrating GPU capabilities into the FLAG multiphysics code. At The Johns Hopkins University, Owen serves as a Course Assistant for Computer Systems Fundamentals, providing academic support to students, and manages logistics as the Director of Logistics for Experiential Education, overseeing a team that supports outdoor instructors on multiple trips. As President of the AstroJays rocketry team, Owen leads a 40-member group in designing flight control software for high-powered rockets. Prior experience includes developing an LDA topical model for research on Purdue Pharma documents, leading outdoor trips for the Keewaydin Foundation, contributing to an epigenetic study as a research assistant, and completing an internship at Leroy Street Studio. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics and Statistics from The Johns Hopkins University.
