Alfonso Subiotto Marqués is a seasoned software engineer and venture partner with extensive experience in software development and investing. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Polar Signals since August 2022, Alfonso also holds the position of Venture Partner at Lorimer Ventures and is an Angel Investor focusing on data, devtools, and infrastructure. Previously, Alfonso was a Senior Software Engineer Technical Lead at Cockroach Labs, where significant contributions included leading the productionization of a distributed vectorized query execution engine, resulting in notable performance gains. Early career experiences include roles at TempoTrader, Google, and EF Education First, along with academic positions as a teaching assistant at Brown University. Alfonso earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Brown University in 2016.
