Emily (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology at Murray State University and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Freed-Hardeman University. Emily enjoys working with adolescents and adults through individual and group therapy.
When working with Emily, clients should know that she believes in creating a safe, judgment-free environment to build a positive partnership for growth. She is passionate about the benefits of group therapy and how clients can learn from one another. Her therapy style utilizes motivational and behavioral counseling techniques to encourage clients to build coping skills, learn emotional regulation, and create positive relationships in their lives. Emily is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR, ages 16+) with individuals who are struggling with traumatic events.
Providing counseling services since 2015, Emily has worked in various settings including a partial hospitalization, medicated assisted treatment facility, juvenile drug treatment court, and outpatient services. While in these various settings, Emily provided services to children, adolescents, and adults with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, behavioral disorders, and criminal behavior. She approaches therapy with a client-centered focus along with showing clients compassion and utilizing humor in session.
