Gregory W. Barton, Ed.D., currently serves as the Dean of the Global College and Dean of the Honors College at Long Island University since July 2023. Concurrently, Gregory has been affiliated with Hellenic American University since August 2019, where roles include Adjunct Professor and Assistant Director of Student Affairs and International Programs. As a co-founder and lead artist at Hamptons Surf Company, Gregory has developed a unique lifestyle brand since 2015, showcasing original photography on hand-shaped surfboards. With a diverse background in educational leadership and the arts, Gregory has held several significant positions, including Chief Product Officer for the Sports Health Institute and Upper School Dean at Portledge School. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education from Johns Hopkins University, a Master’s in Historic Preservation from Savannah College of Art and Design, and a Bachelor’s in Art History and Studio Art from Washington and Lee University.
