James Underwood has a long and distinguished career in various roles within the Long Beach Fire Department, starting as a Firefighter and working their way up to Battalion Chief. James has managed different programs such as Urban Search & Rescue, Fire Boat, and Haz-Mat. With extensive experience in incident management and training, James also holds leadership positions in various emergency response teams and has served as a director in the City Emergency Operations Center during the COVID response. Additionally, James has provided instruction in technical search and rescue, swiftwater rescue, and US&R. Overall, James Underwood has shown a strong dedication to service and leadership within the fire department.
