Nyssa Peterson

Executive Assistant to the CFO at Lone Star College System

Nyssa Peterson is currently the Executive Assistant to the CFO at Lone Star College System. Prior to that, they were a paralegal at Cruser & Mitchell, LLP from May 2013 to June 2014. There they prepared legal documents such as discovery requests/responses, pleadings, motions and orders. Nyssa also filed legal documents such as petitions, motions, orders, and discovery with courts. In addition, Nyssa scheduled mediations, hearings, depositions and examinations under oath, maintained attorney calendar and ordered medical/billing/radiology records.

From July 2014 to July 2015, Nyssa worked as a paralegal at Parker Straus, LLP. There they continued preparing legal documents and correspondence as well as scheduling various appointments.

Before working as a paralegal, Nyssa was an office assistant at Parker Straus, LLP from August 2012 to May 2013. As an office assistant, Nyssa answered phones, filed documents and maintained file organization.

Nyssa began their career in the legal field as a paralegal at The Todd Smith Law Firm from July 2011 to May 2012. During their time there they performed many of the duties they would later perform at Cruser & Mitchell and Parker Straus.

Nyssa got their start in the legal field through a paralegal externship at David Kohm & Associates in April 2011.

Nyssa Peterson has a BBA from The University of Texas at Arlington - College of Business and is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration and Management, General, at Southern Arkansas University. Nyssa has also completed a paralegal program at Arlington Career Institute.
