Siegert Slagman has a diverse work experience in the field of taxation. Siegert has recently worked as a Vice President of Global Tax at JTI (Japan Tobacco International) since June 2023. Prior to that, they served as an Angel Investor/Strategic Advisor from June 2021 to May 2023. Siegert also held the position of Head of Tax at Al Tayer Group from October 2021 to February 2023, where they established the Tax Function and Tax Governance and acted as the Budget Owner for Tax.

In their earlier career, Siegert worked at Philip Morris International, where they served as the Director of Global Tax Operations from April 2019 to July 2021, and as the Director of Indirect Taxation from May 2009 to April 2019. Siegert also gained experience as a Senior Manager of Global Indirect Tax Strategy at Eaton in 2008, and as a Senior Manager of VAT at Amgen from 2005 to 2008. Siegert started their career as an Indirect Tax Manager/Tax Advisor at Andersen and EY from 2000 to 2005.

Siegert Slagman attended the University of Groningen from 1994 to 2000, where they earned a Masters in Law (LLM) with a specialization in Tax Law. In 2003 to 2005, they pursued further education at NOB, obtaining a Dutch Tax Advisor Certification in Dutch Tax Law. Later, in 2007 to 2008, Siegert attended Erasmus University Rotterdam, completing a TopMaster program focused on Indirect Tax.
