Nilda Ruiz is the president and CEO of Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha, Inc. (APM), one of Philadelphia’s premier health, human services, and community development organizations. She served as a mayoral appointee to the Philadelphia City Planning Commission For 8-years. In 2008, was co-chair of Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter’s Transition Team. In 2015 was part of Mayor Kenney’s DHS transition team. She was also asked by Gov. Tom Wolf to serve on his transition steering committee. From 1999 to 2005, Ruiz was UnidosUS (formerly known as NCLR) senior community development director for the East Coast, then in 2009 was appointed to their board of directors where she served on the executive committee for 6-years. Today she serves on two National Boards: Chair of the National Puerto Rican Agenda (NPRA) and Chair of Credit Committee at LISC; and serves on the Affordable Housing Committee for the FHLB of Pittsburg. She is also locally involved in a few trade organizations as a board member and/or as a coalition member.
