Mitchell Giles was appointed as the first CEO of Lives Lived Well in May 2012, following seven years as CEO of the Alcohol and Drug Foundation Queensland. Mitchell is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Health Science (majoring in mental health).
He also has a wealth of practical, hands-on experience. Mitchell began work in the alcohol and other drugs sector while working as a nurse in 1988 in an inpatient detox unit. He later went on to manage a hospital-based drug and alcohol service for 12 years.
During his career Mitchell has worked in a variety of other positions including serving as Deputy Director of Clinical Services and State Manager for a HIV services program.
He has been appointed an Adjunct Associate Professor with the University of Queensland.
