Buster Irby has extensive work experience in the software engineering and IT consulting industries. Buster started their career in 1977 as a Software Engineer at Gunn Enterprises, Inc. From 1982 to 1986, they worked as a Sr. Software Engineer at Intermedics, where they developed software for cardiac pacemakers. Buster then joined BP Amoco as a Sr. Software Engineer, working on a worldwide SCADA project. From 1991 to 2000, Buster worked at Cyberonics, Inc. as a Sr. Software Engineer and later as the Manager/Director of Information Technology. At R & R Computer Services, Inc., they served as the Owner, providing IT consulting services to small businesses. In 2009, they joined LivaNova as a Senior Software Engineer and held various positions, including Principal SW Verification Engineer and Sr. Principal Software Engineer. Currently, they serve as a Senior Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer at LivaNova.
Buster Irby attended McNeese State University from 1968 to 1970, studying computer science. In 2012, they obtained the ISTQB - Certified Tester, Foundation Level certification from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
