Jenny Holte is on the faculty in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of St Thomas. In addition to teaching, she serves as the School of Engineering’s Community College and Transfer Coordinator. Her advocacy for improved transfer-student supports and policies is directly tied to broader goals to increase equity, diversity, and inclusion in our society.
Jenny has been advocating for literacy since 2001, beginning with volunteer work at her children’s elementary school. After completing Literacy Minnesota's training in 2011, she started volunteering at Open Door Learning Center-Northside where she has found many opportunities to engage with learners: teaching ESL classes, mentoring writers, kicking-off a math fundamentals class, coordinating an intercultural exchange with St. Thomas students, and eventually joining the board of directors.
