Oscar Neyra-Nazarrett has a diverse work experience in the fields of clean-tech, engineering, and science. In 2022, they became Co-Founder of LISUS (Techstars '22), where they work to bring the world's brightest minds together to solve environmental challenges. From 2020-2021, they worked as a Research Associate at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and from 2019-2020 they were a Doctoral Research Assistant at the NASA JPL-UCLA Joint Institute for Regional Earth System Science & Engineering. In 2017, they were a Research Assistant at the Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events (CREATE), and a Nuclear Generation Intern at the Nuclear Energy Institute. From 2012-2015, they were the Founder of Generación Respuesta A.C., where they supervised 20 branches across Latin America, grew the organization from 0 to 5,000 active members, and received 23 awards in 6 different countries.
Oscar Neyra-Nazarrett received a Bachelor's Degree in Sustainable Development Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2010-2015. Oscar then attended the University of Southern California from 2016-2018, where they obtained a Master of Public Policy in Energy and Homeland Security. Oscar also attended The Johns Hopkins University from 2017-2018, where they obtained a Master of Arts in Global Security Studies before dropping out with an excellent academic record. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Environmental Science and Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
