Kapil Surlaker is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in data and AI platforms, currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at LinkedIn since July 2010. Prior roles at LinkedIn include Sr. Director of Engineering for Big Data and Director of Engineering for Data Analytics Infrastructure, where Kapil focused on developing innovative data solutions such as Databus, a distributed change capture system. Previous experience includes positions at Kickfire, Network Chemistry, and Oracle, where Kapil specialized in security software and contributed significantly to database technologies. Kapil holds a B. Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
