Michael Collins is a Trustee at Lincoln Park Zoo. Michael previously worked as an Event Planning Specialist at the Wounded Warrior Project from January 2020 to February 2022. In this position, they made an impact and served our nation’s wounded warriors and their families through events and experiences across the central region of the US. As a logistics expert, they coordinated important event details with internal customers from WWP's many programs. Michael placed an emphasis on attention to detail and cost savings of our crucial donor dollars.

Before that, they were Manager, Event Logistics at Ragan Communications and PR Daily from January 2016 to October 2019. In this position, they coordinated logistical elements of over 50 training and networking events per year for PR, marketing and internal communications professionals. Michael communicated attendee, speaker and sponsor information pre- and post-event. Michael also maintained web pages with pre-event details as well as post-event resources. Additionally, they kept a CRM and speaker database listing event success and attendee satisfaction data for use in improving future programming. Lastly, they managed relationships with host companies crucial to meeting space needs for budgeted learning functions.

Michael Collins has a BS in Psychology from Michigan State University, as well as a certification from Duolingo in Duolingo French Fluency: Elementary. Michael also has a certification from the National Association of Parliamentarians in Accredited Parliamentarian, and a certification from Cvent in Cvent Event Management Certification.
