Mary Ellen Luning has a diverse and extensive work experience in the insurance and actuarial industry. Mary Ellen is currently serving as a Lecturer in Enterprise Risk Management at Columbia University in the City of New York since September 2020. Prior to this, they worked as an Actuary and Insurance Industry Consultant.
Mary Ellen held multiple roles at Lincoln Benefit Life (formerly Resolution Life, Inc.), including Vice President of Planning & Capital Management, President & Chief Risk Officer, and Vice President of Planning and Capital Management from 2014 to 2020.
Before joining Lincoln Benefit Life, they were a Managing Director and Head of US Actuarial Management at Swiss Re from 2007 to 2014. Mary Ellen also worked at EY as a Senior Manager from 2000 to 2007.
Mary Ellen began their career at Swiss Re in 1985 and held the position of Vice President of Corporate Actuarial until 2000.
Mary Ellen Luning attended Stony Brook University from 1981 to 1985, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics.
