Ilan Karpas

Algorithms Researcher at LightSolver

Ilan Karpas has extensive experience in research, mathematics, and data science. Ilan started their career as a Teaching Assistant at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2010 and continued in the same role at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 2012 to 2017. During their time at The Hebrew University, Ilan also worked as a Researcher and PHD Student in the Mathematics Department, specializing in research management and the application of probabilistic and graph theoretic methods.

In 2018, they joined Cogito systems as a Data Scientist and Quantitative Analyst, where they implemented mathematical concepts and machine learning algorithms. Ilan remained with the company until 2020.

From 2020 to 2022, Ilan worked at NextSilicon as a Team Lead in the Research group, demonstrating their leadership skills in a research-focused environment.

Currently, in 2022, Ilan is an Algorithms Researcher at LightSolver, where they continue to explore their passion for algorithmic research and implementation.

Ilan Karpas has a strong educational background in mathematics and computer science. Ilan obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. Following this, Ilan pursued further studies at the same university and earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mathematics, completing their studies from 2010 to 2012.

In 2012, Ilan Karpas enrolled at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics. Ilan successfully completed their doctoral studies in 2017.

Aside from their formal education, Ilan has also obtained a certification in the Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera. The details of when they obtained this certification are unavailable.
