Alex Hellewell is a Mechanical Engineer at LTA Research, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to this, they were a Mechanical Engineering Intern at LTA Research, where they contributed to several integral projects on Pathfinder 1, such as the integration of the fins, the design of cooling systems for flight electronics, and the design of various load-bearing components. Before that, they were Lead Assistant at Steve's Firewood from 2017.

Alex Hellewell is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Merced, which they began in 2018 and is expected to finish in 2022. In March 2020, they obtained a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) certification from Dassault Systèmes.
