Michael Dietz has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Michael is currently working as the Head of Proactive Security at Liftoff Mobile since June 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Google for almost nine years, starting in August 2013 as a Staff Software Engineer and leaving in July 2022. Before joining Google, Michael was a Graduate Researcher and Teaching Assistant at Rice University from September 2008 to August 2013. Michael also completed internships at Google in 2012 and 2011 as a Software Engineering Intern. Earlier in their career, Michael worked as an Intern Research Scientist at Intel in 2009 and as an Intern Software Engineer at CNRI from 2003 to 2008. Michael also briefly served as a Teaching Assistant at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in 2002.
Michael Dietz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Virginia, where they attended from 2004 to 2008. Michael then pursued further education at Rice University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from 2008 to 2011. Michael continued their studies at Rice University and received a PhD in Computer Science from 2008 to 2013.
