Schaffer first started coding when he joined a robotics team as a kid. Before joining LifeOmic, he worked for an Electric Cooperative and IBM. At IBM he worked on blockchain applications and cloud infrastructure, specializing in the development of cloud capacity management software.

Schaffer is very passionate about Civic Tech and improving his community through technology. He was a Code for America Brigade Captain at Code for Greensboro before leading an open-source NC campaign finance project at the Open Raleigh Brigade.
