Raquel Santiago is an experienced professional in the fields of counseling, advocacy, and community service. Currently serving as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor at LifeLong Medical Care since July 2019, Raquel also works as an Independent Consultant for the California Reducing Disparities Project, providing technical assistance for LGBTQ+ communities. Involvement with the San Francisco Human Rights Commission includes co-chairing the Affordable Housing Sub-Committee. As Accessibility Coordinator for Queer Yo' Mind, Raquel ensures compliant access for conference participants. Advocacy roles within the Disabled Students Association emphasize the rights of marginalized individuals, alongside experience as a certified Peer Counselor. Raquel's background includes work with UCSF Community Focus Vocational Rehab, where skills development for individuals with mental illness was a focus. Educational qualifications include a degree in Psychology and Counseling from San Francisco State University and an Associate’s in Behavioral Sciences from City College of San Francisco.
