Mr. Rogers, a co-founder of the Company, retired as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer on February 28, 2019, a position that he had held since March 2012. Before assuming his role as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Rogers served as the Company's Chief Financial Officer and Secretary from 1995 to February 2012, Vice President of Finance of the Company's predecessor from 1988 to 1995 and Controller and Due Diligence Officer of such predecessor from 1984 to 1988. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Rogers spent seven years as an accountant and systems analyst in both the public and private sectors. Mr. Rogers has served on the board of directors of Catholic Health Systems as well as other not-for-profit entities. He served on the Board of Advisors of the National Association of Real Estate Trusts (“NAREIT”) through December 31, 2018 and has been a regular presenter at national and regional meetings of the Self Storage Association. Mr. Rogers brings to the Board his intimate knowledge of the Company through his past experience as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer.
