LEMA (Libyan Emergency Medicine Association) will encourage and promote professional excellence, advance the science and practice of emergency medicine, and serve as an advocate for patients, their families, the public, the profession and the EM physicians. It will offer to the interdisciplinary team the necessary tools for the interaction with the critically ill patient and their families from a holistic perspective.

The leadership team at Libyan Emergency Medicine Association has a wealth of experience in emergency medicine. The team includes an emergency medicine resident from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a physician from Benghazi Medical Center, and an SHO from Aljomhyria Hospital. All three members of the team have a medical degree from Benghazi University.
