Avi Allison has over five years of experience in the energy sector, with a focus on electric utility planning, rate design, and policy analysis. Avi is currently an Advisor at LF Energy, a non-profit seeking to accelerate the transition to a decentralized, decarbonized, and digital electricity system. Prior to their work at LF Energy, Allison was a Senior Associate at Synapse Energy Economics where they provided consulting and research services on a wide range of issues related to the electric and transportation sectors. Some of their notable projects include analyzing and commenting on electric utility integrated resource plans, evaluating the impacts of alternative rate designs on rooftop solar economics and electric vehicle charging behavior, and conducting economic impact and cost-benefit analyses of energy and environmental policies.
Allison began their career in the energy sector as an intern at EMI Consulting in 2014, where they assisted with data analysis and report writing. Avi then served as a Research Assistant at Yale Center for Environmental Law & Policy and Columbia University before joining Earthjustice as a Litigation Assistant in 2011. In this role, they provided legal and administrative support to attorneys working on environmental cases. Allison returned to research in 2013 when they became a Research Assistant at Columbia University, where they worked until they joined Synapse Energy Economics in 2015.
Avi Allison has a Master's of Environmental Management from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in the City of New York.
