Alex Hemmelgarn is a Shareholder Attorney at Lewitt Hackman since September 2019, focusing on tax planning, estate planning, and trust administration. With a comprehensive background in tax law, estate planning, and elder law, Alex has previously worked at Goldfarb Sturman Averbach as an Associate Attorney and led the Holocaust Survivors Justice Network at Bet Tzedek Legal Services. Early career experience includes practicing at Hemmelgarn Lee, LLC, and completing law clerk positions related to elder law litigation and criminal prosecution. Alex holds a Master of Laws in Taxation and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in History/Pre-Law from The Ohio State University.
