Kory Koerperich is a skilled litigator who handles trials and appeals in Arizona and Nevada. Kory is an exceptional researcher and writer with a knack for getting to the heart of an issue. He understands the importance of being able to simplify complex factual and legal issues, whether it be for his clients, a judge, or a jury.
Kory works with the firm’s appellate practice group, who, in addition to handling appeals and writ petitions, are often retained before trial to assist trial counsel with identifying, raising, and responding to legal arguments. Kory has experience as both trial counsel and appellate counsel in drafting and responding to dispositive motions, motions in limine, trial briefs, jury instructions, and post-trial motions.
In addition, Kory occasionally represents plaintiffs in personal injury actions as well as parties in bankruptcy court. He also remains committed to public service, earning the distinction of being named a Top 50 Pro Bono Attorney in Arizona for 2022 by the Arizona Bar Foundation for Legal Services & Education.
Kory’s current practice is a natural extension of his experience before joining the firm. He began his career as an appellate law clerk under the mentorship of the Honorable Justice Kristina Pickering of the Nevada Supreme Court. After his judicial clerkship, Kory prosecuted criminal cases in northern Arizona as a deputy Coconino County attorney. There, he appeared daily in court and successfully represented the State of Arizona at numerous substantive hearings and trials. He also drafted briefs for special actions and appeals, which resulted in two published opinions. His colleagues frequently sought out his analytical insight and drafting skills in particularly complicated or high-profile cases.
