Lead Software Engineer (ic4) & Technical Lead at Lendscape

Samuel Watts has a diverse work experience in various roles. Samuel started their career at HPD LendScape as a Trainee Java Developer, where they worked on developing a new module for their existing product and learned industry standards in software engineering. Samuel then joined Southern Co-op as a Customer Service Assistant, responsible for representing the values of the Students Union and ensuring efficient store operations. Samuel was later promoted to Duty Manager, leading and supporting a team of customer service assistants. Samuel then moved on to Lendscape, where they worked as a Junior Software Engineer and was responsible for maintaining a regression testing infrastructure and mentoring a team of Junior Developers. Samuel eventually progressed to the role of Software Engineer Technical Lead, focusing on backend and frontend work using Java, Spring, Vaadin, React, Typescript, and Cypress.

Samuel Watts started their education at The Matthew Arnold School in Staines-Upon-Thames in 2009 and completed their GCSEs in 2014. Samuel then attended Strode's College in Egham from 2014 to 2016, where they pursued an A-Level qualification. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Sussex in 2016 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence in 2019. Samuel'sfield of study was focused on Computer Science.
