Bastien Darbellay is a Junior Algorithm Engineer at LEM Surgical AG since October 2024, with prior experience as a Master Thesis Student at Siemens Healthineers, where explorations in federated deep learning for brain abnormalities detection were conducted, achieving centralized learning performance without data sharing. Additionally, Bastien worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Hydromea SA, focusing on re-architecting software and automating Linux processes. Previous roles include Team Lead and Autonomous Driving Engineer at EPFL Xplore, where navigation software and localization improvements were made, as well as internships at MotionPilot and SWiCAL swiss calibration GmbH. Bastien completed a Master of Science in Robotics and a Bachelor of Science in Microengineering at EPFL, following a Matura in Physics and Applied Mathematics from Gymnasium Neufeld.
