Ute Pokorny has a diverse work experience in the scientific and medical industry. From 2023 onwards, they have been working as the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Leica Microsystems, where they are responsible for driving growth through strategic partnerships and working closely with R&D and business units. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Global Business Excellence - New Product GTM & Commercial Growth from 2021 to 2023, leading a team and overseeing product go-to-market strategy and sales enablement. Ute was also the Director of Danaher Business System - Innovation & Commercial Growth from 2019 to 2021. Ute Pokorny's experience also includes working as an Innovation Program Manager at Leica Biosystems from 2015 to 2018 and as an Application Specialist (R&D) - Automation / Ease of Use at ZEISS Microscopy from 2012 to 2015. Ute started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher in various countries from 2006 to 2012.
Ute Pokorny holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Innovation and Business Creation from the Technical University of Munich, completed between 2016 and 2018. Prior to this, they attained a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from Heidelberg University and the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, which they pursued from 2002 to 2006. Ute also holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Science from The Philipp University of Marburg, completed from 1996 to 2001, and carried out their master thesis at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in 2001 and 2002.
