Tanya Cianfarani has a work experience that spans various roles in the legal field. Tanya began their career in 2004 as a Lawyer at Sorley & Still, where they worked until December 2019. From December 2019 to March 2021, they served as a Lawyer at Radley Family Law. Currently, they are working as Duty Counsel at Legal Aid Ontario, a position they assumed in March 2021.

Tanya Cianfarani completed their high school education at Father Michael McGivney from 1990 to 1995. Tanya then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Law & Society at York University, which they successfully completed in 1999. In the same year, Tanya enrolled at York University - Osgoode Hall Law School, where they obtained their LLB degree in 2002. Additionally, in 2000, they attended the University of Oxford and received a certificate in International Human Rights.
