John West has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. John currently holds the position of Sr. Director of Support Services Staffing & Employee Relations at Leander ISD since 2017, where they previously served as the Director of Support Services Staffing & Employee Relations and Director of Workforce Management. Prior to that, they were the Sr. Human Resource Manager at KoMiCo Technology, Inc from 2013 to 2016. John also worked as a Risk & Human Resource Compliance Manager at Specialty Risk Management, Inc. from 2007 to 2013. Before transitioning into the HR field, John held management positions in the hospitality industry, including F&B Operations/General Manager at Horseshoe Bay Resort, Food and Beverage Director at Wildcat Golf Club, and General Manager/Proprietor at Saltgrass Steakhouse. John began their career in the industry as an Assistant General Manager at Steak & Ale. John's career in the hospitality industry started at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa, where they worked as an F&B Staff from 1989 to 1992.

John West has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Western Governors University, which they obtained from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Human Resource Management from the same university, completing it from 2010 to 2011. In terms of certifications, John obtained the SHRM-CP certification from SHRM in May 2015. John also holds additional certifications, such as ARM (obtained from The Institutes), and PHR (obtained from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI).
