Ari Krakowski has a diverse work experience spanning several domains. They began their career as a Senior Program Coordinator at the Urban Creeks Council and later served in the same role at the Northern California Recycling Association. In 2001, Ari worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Department of Molecular Cell Biology at UC Berkeley, where they led research projects and contributed to multiple publications. They then transitioned to teaching roles at Merritt College and Laney College, where they designed curricula and taught courses in biology, biotechnology, and human sexuality. Currently, Ari is employed at the Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley, where they initially served as the Learning Labs and Digital Learning Director and now hold the position of Director of the Center for Transforming Science and Society. In this role, Ari leads a team in designing and implementing science experiences for youth, families, and educators, with a focus on fostering connections between science and various communities.
Ari Krakowski has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Natural Resources from Humboldt State University. They later pursued a Masters degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from San Francisco State University. Lastly, Ari earned a Ph.D in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to their degrees, Ari has a certification from the SEPAL Summer Institute, Community College Biology Faculty Enhancement in Scientific Teaching, which was obtained from the Science Education Partnership and Assessment Laboratory (SEPAL) at San Francisco State University.
