Jillian Smith

Sessional Lecturer at Laurentian University

Jillian Smith is an accomplished academic and community leader with extensive experience in environmental management and sustainability. Currently serving as a Sessional Lecturer at Laurentian University since 2020, Jillian also contributes to various organizations, including the Métis Nation of Ontario and the ALUMNAE-I Network for Harvard Women Inc. as a Regional Advisory Committee member and Liaison Director, respectively. Jillian has held the position of Vice Chair at the Nickel District Conservation Foundation since 2010 and served as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University Extension School from 2015 to 2019. Jillian’s educational background includes a PhD from the University of Birmingham, a Master of Liberal Arts from Harvard University with a concentration in Ecology, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo.
