Carmen Luisa Vargas has extensive experience in risk management and compliance, currently serving as Conseillère principale at Laurentian Bank Securities since September 2019, after a progression from Conseillère senior in the same department. Previously, Carmen held senior positions at Banco BHD León, focusing on operational risk and crisis management from September 2014 to June 2018, as well as operational risk and internal controls. Prior roles include Director of Operational Risk at Banco BHD S. A. and an internship in Global Markets at BBVA. Educational credentials include a Master’s in Finance and Banking from Universidad de Alcalá, a diploma in Advanced Financial Risk Management from IEB, a Master’s in Business Administration from Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo, and a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering from the same institution.
