Elissa Mahfouz is currently a General Surgery Resident at LAU Medical Center-Rizk Hospital since June 2023. Prior to this role, Elissa served as an Emergency Doctor at Hôpital Notre Dame Maritime from December 2021 to June 2023 and completed a stint as a Research Fellow at the American University of Beirut between June 2022 and November 2022. Elissa also gained experience as a General Surgery Resident at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center from July 2021 to November 2021. Elissa earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine from the University of Balamand, where studies took place from 2017 to 2021, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lebanese American University from 2014 to 2017. Early education was completed at Antonine Sisters School - Ghazir from 1998 to 2014.
