Della Cooper-Benavidez has a diverse work experience in the field of technology education and outreach. In 2016, they served as a GWC Club Sponsor & Program Facilitator for Girls Who Code. Della continued their involvement in the field by becoming a CS Discoveries Educator at Code.org in 2017 and a Teacher Ambassador for TECHNOLOchicas in 2017. In 2018, they volunteered as an RGV Girls Coding Team Volunteer at Code#RGV and obtained their IT Fundamentals certification from CompTIA. Della also worked as an AVID III Mentor/Coach at Brownsville ISD from 2019 to 2021. More recently, in 2022, they joined LatinX Digital Leaders Now as a Project Manager and became a Fellow at Lead For America. Della also served as a Grant Proposal Reviewer & Site Visitor for GenCyber and completed a GradCert in Cybersecurity Professional.
Della Cooper-Benavidez is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity at Abilene Christian University, starting from the year 2022. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from the University of Texas at Brownsville.
Furthermore, Della has acquired various additional certifications, including a Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity from Abilene Christian University in May 2022. Additionally, they obtained an Introduction to Cybersecurity certification from Cisco in April 2022. In 2020, Della completed the Pathfinders Summer Institute through Infosys Foundation USA. In 2018, they obtained certifications in CompTIA IT Fundamentals and CompTIA IT Fundamentals+. Finally, they hold certifications in English L.A & Reading 8-12 and Tech Apps EC-12, although the institutions and dates of acquisition for these certifications are not available.
