Denise Herrera is an experienced social worker currently serving as an immigration defense social worker at The Bronx Defenders since August 2022. In addition to this role, Denise has been a Next Generation Líderes (NGL) Pre-Law Mentee with LatinoJustice PRLDEF since July 2020 and previously worked as a part-time social worker at Brooklyn Defenders from May to August 2022. Denise's earlier experience includes serving as a legal assistant at The Law Office of Christian Y. Alvarez from September 2019 to July 2022 and as an administrative assistant at SCAN-Harbor from November 2017 to September 2019. Denise holds a Master of Social Work with a focus on clinical practice from Hunter College, where studies were completed from August 2021 to June 2022, and a Bachelor’s degree in social work from Hunter College, completed in May 2021. Prior education includes attendance at CUNY Hostos Community College from 2017 to 2018.
