Aarni Mertala has extensive experience in the sports and recreation industry, currently serving as Product Manager for sport at Lappset Group Oy since January 2007, where responsibilities include strategic marketing and sales planning and participation in R&D projects with a focus on user-oriented design. Previous roles at Lappset Group Oy include Key Account Manager, overseeing senior sport equipment sales in Finland, and Area Sales Manager, managing sales for various outdoor equipment in south-western Finland. Prior to that, Aarni worked as a Planner of sport and recreational facilities for the City of Turku, focusing on outdoor facility investments and fostering inter-departmental collaboration to promote physical activity in public spaces. Aarni holds a Master of Sport Sciences degree with a specialization in Sport and Fitness Planning/Management from the University of Jyväskylä.
