Mateus Berutto Figueiredo is a dedicated student and professional with experience in political affairs, education, journalism, and human rights advocacy. Currently serving as a Political Affairs Intern at The Borgen Project, Mateus participates in lobbying efforts aimed at increasing the UK government's foreign aid budget and conducts research on global poverty. As an IB Global Politics Tutor at Lanterna Education, Mateus supports International Baccalaureate students preparing for university applications to prestigious institutions. A freelance journalist, Mateus runs a YouTube channel focused on politically themed documentaries, while also having directed a project for Student Hubs that produced a podcast on Amazon rainforest preservation. Previously, as a Research Intern at Conectas Direitos Humanos, Mateus authored a report addressing the implications of anti-terrorism laws on civil society in Brazil. Mateus is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Human, Social, and Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
