Elisabet Benedikz has extensive experience in the medical field, currently serving as the Head of Quality and Patient Safety and Head of Emergency Medicine at Landspitali University Hospital since February 2010. Previously, Elisabet worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician at the same institution from June 2002 to January 2009 and gained experience as a Fellow of Intensive Care Medicine and Resident Physician of Internal Medicine at Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis from October 1999 to March 2002. Early training included residency in internal medicine at Academic Medical Center from October 1997 to September 1999 and a residency at Landspitali University Hospital from July 1990 to July 1994. Elisabet holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Háskóli Íslands, earned in 1990, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Háskóli Íslands, obtained between 2006 and 2009. Additionally, secondary education was completed at Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík, graduating in 1984.
