Stephan Wulffraat has worked in the conservation and sustainability field since 1995. Theirfirst job was as a Project Manager for Mangrove Restoration with Witteveen+Bos, where they were responsible for coordinating and executing a mangrove restoration and environmental conservation project in West Java. In 1998, they joined WWF Indonesia as a Conservation Ecologist, where they were responsible for coordination of connectivity initiatives for priority conservation landscapes and habitats of key species of the Heart of Borneo. In 2019, they joined HCV Network as a Senior Quality Assurance Officer, where they were responsible for evaluations of assessments of High Conservation Values (HCV) and High Carbon Stock (HCSA) locations set-aside in areas that are proposed for development into plantations of oil palm, pulpwood, rubber, cocoa, coffee, fiber bananas etc. In 2022, they joined Land Life Company as Reforestation Manager Indonesia.
Stephan Wulffraat obtained a Master's degree in Landscape ecology and environmental sciences from the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente. Stephan also holds a Bachelor's degree in Forestry and nature conservation from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences.
