Mike Payne currently serves as the National Treasurer of the Labour Party since September 2022. With over three decades of experience in the trade union sector, Mike has held various roles within GMB, including Senior Organiser and Regional Political Officer for Wales and the South West, where responsibilities included oversight of the Manufacturing Sector and Public Services in Wales. Prior experience includes the role of Membership Development Officer and Regional Organiser at GMB, and earlier positions as a Chef at Lansdowne Hospital and a Heating Engineer. Mike's educational background includes City & Guilds qualifications in Catering and Central Heating Engineering/Plumbing.
