Melanie Bish has extensive experience in nursing and academia, currently serving as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Regional) and Associate Professor in Rural Nursing and Midwifery at La Trobe University since 2010. As the head of the Rural Department of Nursing and Midwifery within the La Trobe Rural Health School, Melanie has held various prominent positions including Deputy Dean, Associate Dean Academic Partnerships, and Acting Head of Campus. Prior roles include Assistant/Acting Director of Nursing at Mercy Health Australia and a Teaching Fellow at La Trobe University in collaboration with Bendigo Health. Melanie's clinical expertise spans several areas, including operating suites, surgical units, critical care, and emergency departments. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing, a Master of Nursing Studies, and a Bachelor of Nursing with Honours, all earned from La Trobe University.
