Jacob Hickman has worked for five companies throughout their career. Jacob began their career in 2006 as an Information Systems Technician Second Class for the US Navy. In 2011, they moved on to become a Systems Engineer for Booz Allen Hamilton. In 2015, they joined AT&T as a Lead System Design Engineer. In 2019, Jacob began working at Stratus Solutions as a Technical Lead and Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. Most recently, in 2021, they became the Director of Engineering at L2T, LLC.

Jacob Hickman obtained a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus between 2010 and 2012. Jacob then went on to pursue a Masters in Information Technology Project Management from the same university, which they completed between 2014 and 2016. Jacob Hickman also holds certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), VMware, and Red Hat. Jacob obtained the Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate certification in April 2020, the VMware Certified Professional 6 - Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV) certification in November 2016, and the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification in November 2014.
