Boon Heon Tan, PhD, currently serves as President of Kyowa Kirin Asia Pacific since April 2019, having previously held the role of Vice President for Corporate Strategy Planning at the same company. Prior to this, Tan was an Adjunct Professor at Singapore Management University and the Chief Operating Officer at Caregiver Asia Pte Ltd. Tan's extensive career includes leadership positions such as Managing Director and Head of Operations for Asia Pacific Rim & India at UCB, and Managing Director for China & Asia Expansion Markets at Biogen Idec. Additional roles include Executive Director at Russell Reynolds Associates and various senior positions at Merck & Co., Inc., along with an earlier career at the Singapore Economic Development Board. Tan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business from Singapore Management University and dual degrees in Bioengineering (MSE and BSE) from the University of Pennsylvania. Education also includes early formative years at Raffles Institution.
