Wouter Grommen is currently serving as Directeur at WZC Frederickxhof since August 2023, while also holding a membership position at the Belgische Vereniging voor Gerontologie en Geriatrie since September 2022. Wouter has an extensive academic and professional background, including roles as a Lector and Onderzoeker at Hogeschool PXL from November 2004 to September 2024, as well as Coordinator for interdisciplinary elderly care programs and research initiatives. Wouter’s experience also includes providing training and counseling on gerontological and geriatrics topics at GeronPlus from May 2015 to December 2023. Previous positions include being a Discharge Manager and social nurse in acute geriatrics at Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg from September 2002 to September 2005. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Gerontology from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, along with two Master of Science degrees in Nursing from the University of Antwerp and training in pedagogical competence from Provinciaal Centrum voor Volwassenenonderwijs, complemented by Bachelor’s degrees in Geriatric Health Care and Social Nursing from Hogeschool PXL.
