Mohamed Elgendy has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Mohamed is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Kolena Inc., a position they have held since May 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Rakuten as the VP of Engineering, AI Platform in 2020.
From 2018 to 2020, Mohamed was the Head of Engineering at Synapse Technology Corporation, where they led the development of a proprietary threat detection platform. Mohamed managed various departments and utilized tech stack such as Python, Tensorflow, C++, Docker, and AWS.
Before that, they worked at Amazon as a Senior Engineering Manager from 2015 to 2018. At Twilio Inc., they held the position of Senior Engineering Manager from 2013 to 2015, where they managed and shipped communication API products using Machine Learning and Neural Networks.
Prior to their roles in technology companies, Mohamed worked at Yale University as a Senior Technical Program Manager from 2010 to 2013, leading significant projects related to website creation and Data Asset Management (DAM) tool development.
Mohamed also has experience as a Lead Software Engineer at Aspen Dental Management, Inc. (ADMI) from 2009 to 2010, where they built an enterprise platform for managing dental practices across the US using C# and Angular technologies.
Mohamed started their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Independence Blue Cross from 2008 to 2009.
Mohamed Elgendy has completed an Executive Certificate Program in Machine Learning from Stanford University. Mohamed also holds an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and a B.S. degree in Systems and Biomedical Engineering from Cairo University. Additionally, they have completed several Nanodegree programs from Udacity, specializing in Flying Car and Autonomous Flight Engineering, Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. Mohamed also possesses additional certifications, including a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Drexel University and a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute. Mohamed has also received a certification in Software Product Management from Coursera.
