Vladimir Curic has a strong background in engineering and research. Vladimir started their career as a Lecturer at the University of Novi Sad in 2004 and continued their academic pursuits as a PhD student at Uppsala University from 2009 to 2014. During their time at Uppsala University, they developed mathematical modeling and computational methods for image analysis.
After completing their PhD, Curic worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Uppsala University from 2014 to 2016, where they developed image analysis tools for interdisciplinary projects involving super-resolution microscopy.
In 2016, Curic joined Imint Vidhance (IMINT Image Intelligence AB) as a Senior Research Engineer, focusing on developing and implementing real-time video processing algorithms for smartphone manufacturers. Vladimir also organized and led algorithm team meetings.
Curic's most recent experience is with Klarna, where they started in 2018 as a Lead Engineer for AI/Machine Learning, working on developing and implementing algorithms. Vladimir then moved up to the role of Engineering Manager in 2019 and currently holds the position of Senior Engineering Manager since 2020. In this role, they are responsible for leading a group of six teams and over 40 people, with a focus on the post-purchase experience.
Overall, Curic has a diverse background in engineering and research, with expertise in image analysis, mathematical modeling, and algorithm development.
Vladimir Curic has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pure Mathematics from the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences, which they obtained in 2004. Vladimir then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Applied Mathematics with a focus on Technomathematics in the ECMI degree program at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences, from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, they enrolled in the Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad, where they obtained another Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Applied Mathematics in 2008. Vladimir Curic's education journey continued with a doctoral program, resulting in a PhD in Computerized Image Processing from Uppsala University, which they completed from 2009 to 2014.
