Santiago Agustín Fernandez has over twenty years of experience in the Information Technology and Cybersecurity fields. In 2001, they began their career as a Senior System Administrator at PRISA, where they were responsible for the implementation of VMware ESX virtual architecture. Santiago Agustín then moved on to become the Information Technology Manager at PRISA, leading the group and establishing goals. In 2008, they joined La Caja de Ahorro y Seguro as the Head of IT Security, where they were responsible for creating and implementing a strategy for Deployment of Information Security Technologies and Services. Santiago Agustín was also in charge of performing IT Security risk assessments and monitoring Security vulnerabilities and hacking threats in network, client and host systems. In 2019, they joined ISACA as a Cybersecurity Fundamentals Instructor, and also began working as the Chief Information Security Officer at Naranja X and as a Professor Of Cybersecurity at Universidad de Palermo. In 2020, they became a Board Member DevSecOps Latam at DevSecOps Latinoamerica and a DevOps Institute Ambassador at DevOpsInstitute. Santiago Agustín is currently working as the Chief Information Security Officer at Klar, and as the Director Cloud Security & DevSecOps at Ekoparty Hackademy. Santiago Agustín is also the DevSecOps Space Ekoparty Coordinator at Ekoparty Security Conference.

Santiago Agustín Fernandez obtained a Licenciado en Tecnología de la Información from Universidad de Palermo between 2011 and 2015. In 2020 and 2021, they completed a Maestría en Seguridad de la Información y Continuidad de Negocio at UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, such as Foundations of Operationalizing MITRE ATT&CK from AttackIQ in 2022, GitOps Fundamentals from Codefresh in 2022, Cyber Security Foundation Professional Certificate - CSFPC™ from CertiProf in 2021, and Cybersecurity for Industrial Control Systems from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2018.
