McKenzie Merritt is an Environmental Specialist/Scientist I currently working at Kirkham Michael since January 2024, focusing on NEPA processes. Prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Student Researcher at Marshall University from January 2022 to December 2023, where research centered on the impacts of prescribed fire on tick-borne pathogens, involving extensive field work and data compilation in the Herpetology & Applied Conservation Lab. Previous roles include a Research Assistant at Zoetis Inc., a Natural Resources Specialist for the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources, an Academic Tutor at Oklahoma State University, and a Permitting Intern at Reagan Smith Energy Solutions. McKenzie holds a Master of Science in Biology from Marshall University and a Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources Ecology & Management with a focus on Wildlife Biology from Oklahoma State University.
