Tawni Johnson has extensive work experience. Tawni started their career as an Administrative Assistant at KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools in January 2011. In this role, they provided support to the Executive Director, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and travel arrangements. Tawni also had responsibilities in marketing/communications, data analysis, human resources, and conducted Microsoft Outlook and Excel training for regional staff. In April 2013, Tawni transitioned to become the School Operations Manager, where they were responsible for the daily operations of a high-performing public charter school. Tawni also planned and organized annual out-of-country field lessons for parents, scholars, and staff. In May 2020, they were promoted to the role of Director of Operations at the same organization. Tawni is currently working at Gifted Atlanta VAs as a Virtual Assistant, starting in March 2020. Their role there involves providing support to solopreneurs and entrepreneurs, allowing them to focus on their business goals by taking non-essential tasks off their plate.

Tawni Johnson attended San Joaquin Delta College from 2004 to 2006 but did not receive a degree or study a specific field during that time. Tawni then went on to study Psychology at Georgia State University from 2006 to 2008, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in that field.
